Sometimes You Need to Be the First

Sometimes you need to be the one who says, “I’ll give you a chance.”

Even if you don’t really know the person yet. 

Even if you’re not sure how it will turn out.

Today we were walking in the city. Beautiful weather. One of those perfect days to sit outside and enjoy the sun.

We passed a small restaurant that looked empty. They had only opened about a month ago.

I asked the server if we could sit outside.

He hesitated for a second… but then he smiled and said yes.

As we sat down, I looked at him and said, “You’ll see… it’s going to get busy now.”

Within about fifteen minutes, the whole outside area was full.

People started arriving. 

Tables filled up. 

The energy completely changed.

And it reminded me of something simple but powerful.

Sometimes people, businesses, dreams, and ideas just need one person to say yes first.

One person willing to show up. 

One person willing to believe. 

One person willing to give something a chance.

When someone takes that first step, others often follow.

So if you can… pass it forward.

Support someone when others aren’t sure yet. 

Encourage someone when they’re just starting. 

Believe in someone before the crowd shows up.

Because sometimes all it takes is one person who believes in you.

And that one person might be you.
